They are equipped with various kinds of sensors to enable them to accomplish amazing smart functions. IoT has become increasingly popular in our daily lives in recent years, improving our living quality in numerous ways. We can install connected thermostats to detect our presence in our homes and adjust the room temperature accordingly. Smart lights can be programmed to turn on or off in certain times and change color based on our preferences. Smart refrigerators can track and monitor expiration dates of food items, and remind us when its time to restock. Walmart stores are now using IoT sensors to monitor the movement of its shoppers in order to target appropriate sales promotion and offers. Moreover, with data collected by IoT devices, we also gain useful insights into peoples daily life patterns and needs. Those technology and data can be used to develop more personalized and tailored services and products in various areas. As the Internet of Things technology continues to evolve and develop, many more exciting use cases are expected to arise in near future. Despite its advantages, IoT is still in early stage and needs to go through security and privacy issues, making its more reliable and safer.
