Christmas Day is the most important festival in western culture, which is celebrated all over the world. Traditionally, Christmas is a time for family and friends to gather together, to share love and joy in the presence of each other. It is the time of year the kids will wait for most anxiously. Usually, Christmas Eve is celebrated with family and close friends. All family members will exchange gifts with one another, and have a big Christmas feast. Families usually decorate their home with Christmas decorations such as walls adorned with holly, mistletoe, lights and a Christmas tree. Individuals might even dress up in their finest Christmas clothing. On Christmas Day, people usually attend church to celebrate the birth of Jesus. After the church service, churches and family homes will usually host Christmas parties. The guests are usually served traditional Christmas foods such as roast turkey, mashed potatoes and all the trimmings. Later, there will be carol singing and games of all sorts. And of course, no Christmas celebration would be complete without the traditional figure of Santa Claus. Father Christmas, as the good old fellow is known in Europe, will undoubtedly bring delight to all children near and far.
