Lighting plays an important role in peoples life, no matter in our home or in workplace. We have to ensure that theres a proper lighting so as to provide people a comfortable working and living environment. Lighting sources can be divided into two categories, natural and artificial lighting, all have their own advantages and disadvantages. Natural lighting uses sunlight as a source, which is an endless free resource that has no adverse environmental impacts. The disadvantage is that natural lighting is only available during the daytime, which make it difficult to maintain a consistent level of lighting indoors. As for artificial lighting, it is widely used in urban areas as a substituted of natural lighting. The advantages of artificial lighting are controllability and stability, which allowed us to adjust the level of lighting according to our demands. In conclusion, modern lighting system needs to be designed in accordance with the needs of users and environmental conditions, so that it can fully utilize the power of the lighting sources and create a beautiful, comfortable and healthy lighting environment.
